Alex Tilmes performing a front lever

I am Alex. I am 17 years old and I was born in Germany and moved to Boulder when I was about 7. I started with no English and a new life ahead of me. I had tried many other sports like basketball, football, and soccer but could never get into any of them. About four years ago, one of my friends told me to come to APEX Movement to do parkour. I had no idea what parkour was, but when I took my first class I was instantly hooked. This ended the lazy chapter in my life and began a new one full of excitement and determination to become great at parkour. Parkour ignited my desire to be active in other areas as well. Since I started doing parkour, I have been experimenting with other movement arts. I started to snowboard, wake board, and explore the outside world.

Teaching parkour has been a goal of mine for more than a year and now, and only after a lot of hard work and dedication did I reach my goal of becoming a fully certified parkour coach. My new goal is to teach other people as much as I can and potentially change their lives for the better. I am who I am today because of my discovery of parkour and without it I would not be as happy as I am now.
